The Jewelry Edit had the opportunity to talk to Prasi.
What is the name of your company?
Prasi
How did you come up with the concept for your company?
We were certain from the beginning that our brand should reflect our personal history and heritage, and we also wanted it to feel like a family name. This led us to incorporate our last names. After much contemplation and numerous combinations, we ultimately came up with “Prasi,” a fusion of Prates and Sicupira.
Where do you look for inspiration when designing pieces?
We find inspiration in Brazil’s cultural heritage and modernist architecture. Our pieces focus on clean lines, bold geometry, and timeless quality. Personal memories and the emotional significance of jewelry also influence our design process, since we started the brand with our mother’s day-to-day jewelry foremost in our minds.
What are your favorite types of pieces to design?
Mariana: Chains.
Helena: I don’t have an all-time favorite. Designing new pieces is always a pleasure, and my preferences vary depending on the mood and moment.

Why do you think it’s important for people to wear/own jewelry?
We believe it’s important because jewelry serves as an extension of one’s personality and can be a powerful form of self-expression.
What’s something people should keep in mind when shopping for jewelry?
It’s important that the pieces feel like a natural extension of yourself—almost like a second skin.
What draws customers in to purchase jewelry from your collection?
